Aja: A Tribute to the Music of Steely Dan from Cincinnati Performing The Royal Scam Album Live

“Based out of Cincinnati, Ohio, Aja: A Tribute to the Music of Steely Dan is celebrating 20 years of wowing Steely Dan fans of all ages by bringing the show to a wider audience and making it’s Louisville debut at Headliners Music Hall on Saturday March 8th! To make this show extra special, the band will perform two long sets of Steely Dan’s greatest hits and deep cuts with a complete performance of The Royal Scam album as the centerpiece. Released in 1976, The Royal Scam is the band’s 5th studio album and contains a treasure trove of amazing songwriting from Donald Fagen and Walter Becker along with classic instrumental performances from an all start cast of studio heavyweights like guitarist Larry Carlton. Prepare to embark on a mesmerizing journey through the golden era of psychedelic blues and the seeds of the ‘jam band’ scene as Live Dead & Brothers takes the stage. Comprised of actual and legacy members from the extended Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers families, this exceptional ensemble is set to revive the timeless magic of the late 1960s and early 1970s, bringing fans an experience like no other.The line-up is pedigree and generational featuring Berry Duane Oakley from The Allman Betts Band, Mark Karan from Bob Weir & Rat Dog, Scott Guberman from Phil Lesh & Friends, Pete Lavezzoli from Oteil & Friends and very special guest, slide guitarist, Steve Kimock. Together, these accomplished musicians skillfully recreate the magic of the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band’s co-billed concerts during the period of 1969 to1973. Their performances capture the raw energy, improvisational prowess, and soul-stirring melodies that defined an era of musical innovation. General admission standing room only (limited seating is available first come, first served)   Louisville Loves Emo started as a silly idea between two friends:“What if we got all our musician pals together and did our best to do full-band, live recreations of the songs we grew up singing along to?”   Six years later, the Louisville Loves Emo experience has become a treasured communal experience involving a rotating cast of 20+ musicians and performers and a playlist of the biggest emo anthems and other bangers you seem to know by heart.    What to expect: 3 live bands playing full sets with rotating guest vocalists; live emcee and DJ keeping up the party atmosphere; acoustic sing-alongs; a live band karaoke performance, contests, and more!   Show will run from 8p-11:30p   Music you should plan to sing along to: Fall Out Boy, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday and an assortment of other favorites from roughly 2000-2015 emo era.   What you should bring: all your friends, your kids (it’s all ages), your singing voice   $18 Advance / $22 Day of show This is an All Ages event.Show starts at 8pm.
